  11. I have an intermintent problem with my 1581 drive.  It is still my most
  12. reliable drive, but the problem seems to be getting worse.  Sometimes
  13. when I change diskettes I get the directory from the old diskette.
  14. Initializing the drive, I0:, or getting a new directory do not always
  15. help.  I just have to turn the drive off and back on to use another
  16. diskette.  The problem may be more likely to occure after the drive
  17. has been on for a while.  I think Desterm buffers the user directory
  18. inside the computer and it is more likely to overwrite the new disk
  19. directory with the directory from the old diskette, creating a real
  20. mess.  My 1581 has the good controler and is equipped with JiffyDOS,
  21. although I usually use it in 128 mode without JiffyDOS.

  23. Is this a common problem, and is there a cheap or simple fix?
